When you come onboard, we will have a thorough discussion to ensure you’re informed in the various accounting and tax matters that are relevant to your specific situation. You will learn about important deadlines, different GST calculation methods, dividend versus salary (for corporation), tax deductibility of various expenditures, etc.

For example, we will explain to you the two different options to calculate GST/HST – the Regular Method and the Quick Method. If you’re a contractor with low expenses relative to your revenue, you may potentially save up to $3,500 per year from using the Quick Method for accounting for GST/HST instead of the Regular Method. Furthermore, the Quick Method is administratively easier too.

If you’re incorporated, we can take care of your bookkeeping as well as the tax filings.

For bookkeeping, we use an Excel based system that is usually cheaper than a bookkeeper using an online software subscription such as QuickBooks Online. To learn more, please click here for more details.
